Explore Children’s Museum Board Committees:

Governance Committee

The role of the Governance Committee is to exercise general oversight of the Board of Directors, including but not limited to, compliance with Explore Children’s Museum’s Bylaws in order to measure the quality of the Board's performance on a board level and compliance with Director Goals and Commitments on an individual level. The Governance Committee creates a Board member recruitment strategy and reviews the qualifications of and recommends to the Board of Directors proposed nominees for election to the Board.

Finance Committee

The role of the Finance Committee is to provide overall financial analysis, advice, and oversight for Explore Children’s Museum. Its members help to ensure that our organization has the necessary resources to provide programming and deliver our mission in the community. The committee is responsible for compliance with Wisconsin statutory and regulatory audit requirements for nonprofit organizations, monitoring and planning for our organization’s financial position, as well as reviewing and providing guidance on the organization's financial matters.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is composed of the Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, President, and Executive Director (non-voting). The role of the Executive Committee is recruiting, nominating, and hiring the executive director. Committee members set executive compensation levels and work with the executive director to establish short and long term goals for Explore Children’s Museum. This committee will evaluate the Executive Director’s at least annually. The Executive Committee may act on behalf of the full board, with ratification by the full board at the subsequent board meeting. The Committees main purpose is to facilitate decision making between board meetings or in urgent and crisis circumstances.
