Build it Big
Children love build and create. The build site features rotating large blocks and objects that give kids the freedom to design their own structures and test them out independently or with friends. Allowing them to test different forms builds problem solving and patience, and building with others gives opportunities to practice collaboration and cooperation. Kids can let their imaginations and creativity run wild as they build and work on their spatial awareness and coordination. Working on a project like those available at the build site helps to increase attention span and create understanding of mathematical concepts.
There are many ways to engage with your child as they build. What are they building? What happens when they use materials in different ways? Join them as a collaborator and ask how you can help them realize their vision.
Keep on Building
While the museum has lots of specialized materials for building, the creativity doesn’t have to stop when you leave.
